Supported teaching placements
We partner with East London College and College of North East London to provide teaching placements for participants on teacher training courses. Trainees are supported by a qualified co-teacher, who shares the class with them, and by a line manager. Peer-to-peer training sessions are held every half term, where paid and trainee staff exchange resources and techniques. These sessions bring fresh and up-to-date teaching ideas into Heba, and trainees benefit from the insight and experience of Heba’s qualified teachers.
If you are a trainee teacher and would like to try a placement in a holistic community setting, contact anne@heba.org.uk
“I started working at Heba in January, 2013 as teaching practice for my DTLLS course at East London College. I taught ESOL Entry 1 and Entry 3.
Heba is a team of highly qualified professionals and amazing personalities. I loved every day I spent there and I learnt a lot about teaching and learning ESOL, as well as about the unique message Heba has. I received a lot of help, advice and encouragement from all the colleagues and I had an opportunity to be involved in all the events organised by Heba, which was highly valuable for me.”
